Change Lives For Years to Come

Consider Leaving a Legacy Gift to People Who Care

Thanks to the generosity of people like you, our volunteers are able to provide assistance at no charge, including transportation to essential appointments, escorted grocery shopping/grocery delivery, friendly visits, and more for those who cannot drive due to age, vision issues, or physical limitations.

Your Gift Helps Us Continue This Vital Work in the Future

Your planned gift helps ensure that People Who Care is available to assist neighbors in our communities for many years in the future. You may choose to give to People Who Care in your lifetime or in your will or trust. You can take care of your family and friends first and donate a percentage of your estate to People Who Care.

How to become a legacy donor:

There are many ways to become a legacy donor, including:

Bequests
Make a gift from your will or trust. This can include gifts of
property, such as stock or real estate.

Retirement Accounts
Name “People Who Care” as the beneficiary and enjoy tax benefits.

Life Insurance and Annuities
Name “People Who Care” as the beneficiary. A charitable
gift annuity pays you income for life with the remaining
value going to People Who Care.

Charitable Trusts
Choose from a variety of strategies available for legacy planning.

Qualified Charitable Distribution
In addition to these legacy strategies, there is a lifetime
strategy available to people over the age of 72 1/2. All or
part of your IRA Required Minimum Distribution can be
transferred directly to People Who Care, and that amount is
not included in your income. There are several tax rules for
this strategy, so consult your adviser.

To learn more about legacy giving – including the many
tax advantages – consult your attorney, financial advisor,
or tax accountant. They can offer guidance on which giving
options are best for you.

Why have my wife and I named People Who Care to be a beneficiary in our Testamentary Fund? As a volunteer of my time and talent to the organization, it makes my heart glad to know that our future financial donation will support the mission of helping Neighbors annually and well into the future. It’s part of the culture of People Who Care’s management and Board of Directors to spend donated money wisely. I’m confident that PWC’s faithful stewardship and commitment to service will endure after my wife and I are gone."

Leaving a beloved home,
creating a Legacy

Doris Glushenko Neighbor

Years of attentive service from People Who Care volunteers helped Doris Glushenko stay in her beloved home. In 2017, when declining health forced Doris to move into a senior living facility, she donated her house to People Who Care, stating: “It was hard to consider leaving my home, but it was easy to decide to give it to People Who Care. It seems right that they should benefit from the very home their services allowed me to stay in longer than I could have otherwise.”

Doris passed away in 2020 and left her entire estate to People Who Care. We are so grateful for Doris’s generosity. Her gift enabled us to finally have our own home. We have moved from the rented space we had outgrown and purchased a building at 1580 Plaza West Drive in Prescott. This new location will allow us to continue our vital services and reach many more Neighbors in the future.

Doris has created a lasting legacy that will sustain People Who Care’s ongoing work to support the independence of others as they age in place.
