People Who Care

The People Who Care-Prescott Program is coordinated out of our main office where all administrative activities take place for the organization.

The program is able to offer the a complete “smorgasbord” of volunteer caregiving assistance – Essential Transportation (healthcare appointments, support group meetings, visits to loved ones in healthcare facilities ;) Help with Grocery Shopping and Personal Paperwork; Family Caregiver Relief; Handyman Help; Reassurance Phoning; Neighborly Visits; Home Safety and Emergency Telephone Call Units for qualifying clients.

As of May 31, 2013, the Prescott Program volunteers were assisting over 325 enrolled Neighbors helping them to continue living independently in their own private homes and independent living apartments. As of this date, our awesome Volunteers numbered 275 and each one has found a special way of helping our Neighbors.

The majority of the assistance provided is on a one to one basis. Volunteers driving Neighbors use their own private vehicles and, in the majority of circumstances, stay in the facility (medical offices, grocery stores) with the Neighbor. People Who Care is not a taxi service!

The essence of People Who Care is our goal of helping to create and nurture long term caring relationships through on-going Volunteer/Neighbor assignments where there is the opportunity for them to get to know one another.
